"Katie Adams is a brilliant, incisive and compassionate editor who helps books become their better selves. I loved working with her.” -SARAH RUHL, PULITZER PRIZE FINALIST AND TONY NOMINEE
“What I love most about Katie is her uncanny way of identifying the heart of any project. Because of her eye for such detail, it’s easy to trust her pen and instinct as an editor. She’s sharp, professional, and respectful, always open to hearing any concerns of the author. It was a pleasure working with Katie for my novels Here Comes the Sun and Patsy. I’m not sure what I would’ve done without her edits, although I’ve learned so much from her moving forward!” -NICOLE DENNIS-BENN, AUTHOR OF THE PRIZE-WINNING NOVEL HERE COMES THE SUN
"Katie Adams is endowed with some kind of X-ray vision into the bones of a book. She saw a tighter, more compelling narrative hiding in each of my chapters and gave me exactly the prompts and queries I needed in order to realize her insights on the pages of my revision. She edited me right into the finals of the National Book Awards, the Pulitzer Prize, and the LA Times Book Awards." --VICTORIA JOHNSON, AUTHOR OF AMERICAN EDEN
"Working with Katie Adams was one of the clear highlights of my writing career. She has great insights in shaping the work in progress and communicates them clearly, directly, and promptly. She saw the book I wanted to write more clearly than I did and then helped me to get it where I needed it to be." --TOM McALLISTER, AUTHOR OF HOW TO BE SAFE: A NOVEL
"Katie is a joy to work with because she studies your writing and your voice so carefully. She has tremendous respect for your research agenda, and she thoughtfully guides you to think about what is getting in the way of meeting your manuscript’s goals. Her feedback on my manuscript was filled with the kinds of questions I need to ensure that I was maximizing my book’s clarity, using the right tone in engaging my reader, and creating a cohesive narrative arc. Do your book a favor and work with Katie." --DR. MARCIA CHATELAIN, AUTHOR OF FRANCHISE: GOLDEN ARCHES IN BLACK AMERICA
"I reached out to Katie in the early stages of writing my first book. She was tremendously helpful in shaping the tone of the manuscript, infusing the spirit of my online writing into those first few drafts. Katie was a great sounding board, too, when I got stuck at various points — and she kept me on track, which I needed!" --ELIZABETH HOLMES, AUTHOR OF HRH: SO MANY THOUGHTS ON ROYAL STYLE
"Katie's insightful, clear and honest edits met my novel where it was, while also helping me see what the book could become; the result has taken my writing to the next level, and given me the confidence to send it out into the world. I can't recommend her services enough!" --ALLIE ROWBOTTOM, AUTHOR OF JELLOW GIRLS
